The Smooth Survey© Range
In November 2007 IPEC HV were awarded a DTI R&D grant of £90K and UK electricity utility innovation funding of £190K to develop and launch three new Partial Discharge (PD) Monitoring Systems aimed at all types of medium voltage (3.3kV to 36kV) and high voltage (66kV+) plant.
The SmoothSurvey© range of PD monitoring systems will allow for low-cost, 24/7 PD monitoring and will include both permanent and portable remote access monitors (internet and SCADA-based) to detect, analyse and log PD activity.
The new range will represent the world's first "joined-up" range of technologies capable of monitoring all classes of high voltage and medium voltage plant including cables, transformers, switchgear and rotating machines to provide an accurate picture of the plant's health and performance under service conditions.
